Being in a band that’s gaining momentum, but is still playing the obscure bar and local joint shows can be an interesting challenge. It’s a struggle, however it’s full of rewards and benefits. Such as free booze, fellowship and pizza. And also the growth of gaining a fan base. Plus, you never know who you’re going to end up meeting. Good friends are acquired in the most unlikely of places. Which makes the adventure worth while.
Creating a scene with a support system is imperative to success. And in LA, the hard rock scene is experiencing a terrific resurgence. The Sunset Strip is in the best shape it’s been in in years. Because there’s new bands bringing the heat. Plus venues such as the Rainbow and Viper Room are doing their part to support the community. Not only that, but downtown L.A. is having a scene buildup at locations such as the five star bar. That combined with the resurgence of the Sunset Strip scene is showing the people that rock isn’t going anywhere. There is a new wave of high quality hard rock bands such as Basset and Lust & Lies that want to shatter expectation. To show the world what rock is about.
That’s what’s going to sustain not just Break!, but any band trying to run the marathon of a career. Passion, vision and original sounds are key. It’s what draws people in. And Break! combines punk, 90’s garage rock, 80’s hard rock with blues, groove and a pinch of prog to possess a fresh, aggressive sound. Although the links below greatly favor the punk side of the band. But I believe it’s those musical elements that are going to develop a fan base. That and the fact that Break! is just pure fun. Through all the layers of rock, Break! is simply an old school party band. Not to mention the guys sound good live too. So check out the links below. Hope you enjoy.
