Genesis to Genesis Reunion Tour

In a world of increasing reunions some are expected and some aren’t. And the Genesis reunion taking place in the U.K. and Ireland is absolutely on the unexpected spectrum. But it’s happening. The trio line-up of Genesis: Phil Collins – Drums Vocals, Mike Rutherford – Guitars and Tony Banks – Keys, will be the featured incarnation of the band.

Entitled ‘The Last Domino?,’ the tour is only hitting cities in the U.K. and Ireland. Sorry U.S. fans, you’re going to have to travel across the pond if you want to see them. At least for the time being. Hopefully, these shows are test runs to see if they can still do a full Genesis set list. And if all goes well then they will indulge the planet with a world tour. Which will most likely be their last. The band has added additional dates to the venues that they’re already playing.

I would say the results are going to be up in the air. It could go really well, or it could go fairly poorly. Not the show itself. Genesis are well known for their extravagant light show. And I’m sure they’ll deliver on that as they always have. But we’ll see how Phil Collins’ voice has held up over the years. He’s 69 now. Some guys have held their voices up really well over the years. Steven Tyler for example. I have faith that Collins will deliver a quality show. But there was an evening when he performed his hit solo smash ‘In the Air Tonight’ on Jimmy Fallon. And he sounded pretty good, but you could tell he was aging with his voice. That was about four or five years ago now. So like I said, it’s up in the air. I’m certainly not concerned about how the music will sound. Especially with Phil’s son Nic on drums. The only concern would be Collins’ voice still retaining it’s boyish charm.

Hopefully the shows go off well and they make their way over stateside. It just might be ‘The Last Domino.’ Dates posted below.

If this is where Collins is vocally it’s worth going to.
If they can bring this energy to the shows then everyone go!!
