‘Black and White,’ ‘Jack and Jack,’ ‘J&B.’ Those are some possible names for the new Jack Black and Jack White collaboration. According to a new ‘Loudwire’ story, comedian Jack Black and Raconteurs front man Jack White have finally come together on a new song. The Tennessean confirmed the story since the collaboration was recorded in Nashville, calling the project ‘Jack Grey.’ Which I feel is the most appropriate name.
The musical comedy genius Jack Black also confirmed the partnership during a Tenacious D show in Music City. ‘We went over to his (Jack White) house today and recorded a brand new song.’ The song will be released on Third Man Records, which is Jack White’s record label. The label is known for doing weird, off singles that have little to do with White’s entire career as a whole. Usually the products are a tongue and cheek kind of thing. So it makes sense that this collaboration would end up on Third Man Records.
The idea has been pressured by fans of both Tenacious D and Jack White since the trio were in a London airport and posted a photo together on Instagram. Not only that but it’s been a collaboration that’s been in back of fans’ mind since each act gained house hold status 20ish years ago. Personally, I’m surprised that they took this long to get together to do something. Although Black and White come from different forms of hard rock. White from a more alternative scene vs. Black’s classic heavy metal influences. But coming together can only mean something epic. Seeing as how both have a pretty wicked sense of humor. Looking forward to hearing the result.
