The originator of grunge is back with an all new solo venture. Ty Tabor of King’s X has thrown himself into yet another great record. This time around he’s exploring the more pop side of the Tabor/King’s X spectrum. There’s still plenty of moody, dark tropes throughout. But the album as a whole focuses on harmonies, melodies and atmospheric sounds. As opposed to the last album ‘Alien Beans.’

Hard to believe that it’s been nearly 30 years since Cheap Trick released their thirteenth, and most underrated album, ‘Woke Up With A Monster.’ In the fandom world of Cheap Trick, it’s legendary. But in the mainstream rock world, it’s unfortunately an overlooked gem that failed to perform up to expectations. Resulting in a quick in ‘n out at Warner Bros. records.

Germany’s biggest rock band, and one of the biggest of all time in general, are back with new material. It’s their first album since 2015’s ‘Return to Forever.’ And their fifth since the turn of the century. Originally, it wasn’t even going to happen. But a friend and mega fan convinced the band to go into the studio to give it one last crack. And the results are mixed.

The heavy metal world lost a true giant last week on Feb 1st. Johnny ‘Z’ Zazula, founder of Megaforce records, passed away due to complications from COPD, osteopenia and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. He truly was one of the most influential people in all of heavy music.
