Stone Temple Pilots – ‘Purple’ 25th Anniversary Review

It finally happened. STP’s sophomore masterpiece has finally gotten the remaster it deserves. Initially it was the bands lowest bit recording in their catalog. Which made the mix sound a little out of place on a playlist. But finally, the 24 bit remaster makes the album pop out of the speakers like it really should. Not only that, but the remaster comes with plenty of tasty extras. Including a full length concert from New Haven, CT on the massive ‘Purple’ tour. STP did it right.

Rock Hall of Fame Still Doesn’t Understand Title, But Is Making Progress

Well, it’s that time again. When the ‘Rock N Roll Hall of Fame’ names all the acts that are on the nomination board. And honestly, this year it’s overall a pretty solid bunch of groups: Soundgarden and Judas Priest both seem to have a decent shot. And Motley Crue is leading the fan nominations; whomever wins that gets a spot. Soudgarden obviously should be in and Judas Priest has been nominated and snubbed for the past few years. It also looks like Motorhead and Pat Benatar will get in. All of those acts are more than deserving of being in the Hall of Fame.

Queen Block Trump Once Again

Our President just doesn’t get it does he? Not that he ever did in the first place. Queen don’t want any politicians to use their music. This is the second time the British legends have blocked Donald Trump from using their music. In 2016 they filed suit when Trump used ‘We Are The Champions’ as a walkout track for the Republican convention. And now, Queen have blocked Trump from using ‘We Will Rock You.’ The first half of the double track.

South Park Use Dying Fetus Track For New Band Crimson Dawn

This is just one of the best things South Park has ever done. As followers of the show may know, the Marsh family have been living on a weed farm for the past 10 episodes or so. And Stan does not like living there. He misses his friends and South Park. So what does he do? Form an extreme death metal band entitled Crimson Dawn. How amazing is that band name?

David Lee Roth: ‘Van Halen is Over’

Many Van Halen fans’ worst nightmare came true recently. The hope for one more Van Halen go round with DLR was slashed when the front man stated that the band is ‘finished.’ In a recent interview in Detroit, on the ‘Talkin’ Rock With Meltdown’ podcast, DLR was asked about another tour. And the stadium tour that was proposed but never happened.
