Post Malone – The Rocker Who Never Was

He’s the current rapping craze that’s sweeping the states and other international markets. Post Malone has ripped through the rapping market to become a dominate player in the game. And he’s done a pretty good job at navigating his way through the brutal ‘music’ industry. The unexpectedly charming rapper, however, doesn’t have his roots in rap. His humble beginnings start with the hard rock and metal world.

He’s a self admitted hard rock and metal fan. And apparently he has the music theory training to be an effective musician. So, my question is, ‘why doesn’t he do that?’ Why doesn’t he create truly intriguing music? I’m not saying that is has to be metal, but he’s certainly smarter that the top 40 tracks he pumps out. To be frank, I don’t know the true answer. He’s done his best to keep some hard rock and metal veterans legacy alive. The most prominent being his recent collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne.

The song, ‘Take What You Want,’ is, well, overall it’s pretty terrible. But if a song like that is what it takes to get some hard rock back into the prominent eye, so be it. The track will hopefully be a boon to Ozzy’s new album set to come out in a few months. My ulitmate question is, ‘why subject yourself to the lower standard of music?’

Kind of absolute garbage.
